Before the year speeds up, take a moment to slow down...

When life is full, taking care of yourself can become another thing on the list. Even when you know what helps, finding the time—and actually doing it—is another matter.

This immersion offers a simple rhythm: show up, be guided and give yourself space to recharge, to calm your mind, and to boost your energy.

Most of us practice when we can squeeze it in. But something changes when we give ourselves a short period of consistency. The cumulative effect of practicing 5 days in a row is so much more than 5 sporadic practices. Our bodies feel calmer, we have more access to grounded, sustainable energy, our nervous systems benefit from regular daily reset so our bodies can more easily and naturally heal.

So before the craziness of Christmas begins, I've created this five days of practice — morning, noon and night - come to one, two or all three practices daily — and see what happens when you give your body, mind and attention a little more space.

Build a consistent practice for five days. No pressure to perform, achieve or get it right. Just show up and gift yourself the time.

This is for you if you are…

  • feeling depleted, overwhelmed or out of balance
  • wanting to reconnect with your body, energy and inner calm
  • wanting to create a consistent daily wellbeing practice
  • wanting a more consistent practice and the support of a group—without a 100-day commitment or hours-long sessions
  • looking for a gentle reset before the end of the year
  • curious about qigong and wanting to try a simple, easy to understand, and powerful practice to see what it is all about

What you will receive…

  • a clearer understanding of Qi and Qigong.
  • five days of guided Qigong practice
  • up to three opportunities to practice each day
  • simple to understand instruction in English
  • space to slow down, restore and reconnect with your body
  • a concentrated period of directing Qi inward to support restoration, balance and a deeper sense of vitality
  • a clearer understanding of what helps you feel recharged.

Why five days?

A single class offers a welcome pause—a chance to settle, reconnect with your body and find a little more balance.

With consistent practice, each session builds on the last. Familiar movements, focused attention and time to settle can create an experience that feels like much more than five separate classes.

I like to think of it as 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 500!

We become more familiar with relaxing, more aware of our inner state and more practiced at returning to calm. Over time, that steadiness can begin to travel with us beyond the class, helping us find our center amid the ups and downs of everyday life.

Five days also feels like a manageable place to begin. A traditional 100-day gong—a commitment to the same practice each day—can feel like quite a leap. Five days gives you room to explore what daily practice can offer, with a commitment that feels encouraging rather than overwhelming.

Less rushing through. More time to feel, notice and discover.

What will your five days look like...

We’ll begin with an online gathering on Sunday evening—a chance to meet each other, learn more about Qi and get comfortable with the practices we’ll explore throughout the week. We’ll look at the movements, why we include them and how to approach them, so you can begin with confidence.

We’ll also establish a group Qi field—a shared intention and sense of connection to return to throughout our five days together. In the Qigong tradition, this connection is understood to extend beyond our practice sessions. Think of it as an invitation to carry a little of that shared calm and focus into the rest of your day.

Each day offers three guided 30 min practices: a chance to begin with intention, pause at midday and gently unwind before bed.

You’re welcome to join one, two or all three. Perhaps the midday practice becomes your daily anchor, or you choose to bookend your days with morning movement and evening stillness. And if you’d love to immerse yourself fully, join us for all three—enthusiasm warmly welcomed! 😆

Choose a rhythm that feels supportive and manageable for you. The aim is to give yourself a regular space to return to, with curiosity, kindness and room to notice what unfolds, not a heavy challenge that feels unmanageable to continue.

Three powerful opportunities to practice each day:

Morning · 6:30–7:00am | Awaken and flow
Begin with Lift Qi Up, Pour Qi Down—gentle, flowing movements to awaken your body and encourage Qi to flow as you move into your day.

Midday · 12:00–12:30pm | Replenish and reconnect
Pause for Four Palaces Open and Close, gathering Qi with a focus on four key energy centres described in the practice. A chance to turn inward, refresh and find your balance again.

Evening · 8:00–8:40pm | Gather and settle
Close the day with traditional standing meditation, focusing on drawing Qi inward, releasing tension and settling your body and mind in preparation for sleep.

All times are Sydney time.

About your facilitator:
Yvette Martin

Based in Sydney, Yvette brings together psychology, leadership experience, modern medicine and ancient wisdom. After studying psychology, she spent 12 years in pharmaceuticals before building a 15-year career as an executive coach, including senior roles in talent and people leadership.

Her cancer diagnosis in 2020, followed by a recurrence in her brain in 2022, profoundly changed her understanding of health. Alongside medical treatment, she explored ways to support her body and mind through Zhineng Qigong. Her training took her to China and Thailand, culminating in her qualification as a Teacher of Qi Science following a residency in Dali.

Today, Yvette offers retreats, online Qigong classes and facilitated support groups for people living with chronic or life-threatening illness. She also leads coaching programmes for busy professionals, helping them change their relationship with stress and feel calmer and more empowered throughout their days—without giving up their busy lives or relocating to a cave in India.

Her approach combines scientific curiosity, lived experience and warmth. She believes that while we cannot always control what happens to us, our power lies in how we choose to meet it. Through our attention, choices and actions, we can play an active part in shaping what comes next—and make room for calm, possibility and joy along the way.

Above all, life is precious, healing takes many forms, and we can still have joy and laughter while we're here!
